I lived in Haslett and moved to the Poet Huron area in September. I never had the opportunity to visit. I'm wondering how to begin the journey into this world. Perhaps read books on Wicca? Any advice for a man?

It can be overwhelming at the start. Find something that interests you and focus there, you can always branch out later. I began with tarot, then slowly moved into other areas of interest. As for advice for a man, don't let your gender define you in this. Embrace the masculine and feminine in equal measure and don't be afraid of how others see you. Witch is a gender neutral term and witchcraft is a gender neutral art. Every book will have something else to say. The best advice I can give you is to learn from what others believe, but pick and choose what you believe. Neopagan religion is extremely personal. Study what catches your eye. Treat all with respect. The energy you put into the world will come back to you. You dont have to be an expert to begin. See if there is a similar store in your area (metaphysical and witchcraft are good keywords), but there's a wealth of info online if you can't get to a physical store.

Look for similar stores in your area. Books can be helpful and the stores usually have flyers about meetings pertaining to the subject. I'm sure the store staff could also be helpful.

Books are a great resource, attending classes is also a big help though.
