Is it possible to do both the museum and factory tour in 1 day or just plan on 2 days?

Recommenation is 2 days. If you only have one day I would recommend to skip the factory tour and come back next year :-)

Two days because you will want to see everything!!

Plan on 2 day's. So much to see, if you don't you'll just be rushing and if you got kids that will just slow you down even more.
