Normally they do allow exchanges for like products. For example, I bought a light fixture that priced for $25. I needed a like style, but a different model number than what I had picked. They were the same price. No questions asked, left the incorrect fixture at the counter and got the replacement. No problems. The return policy is pretty relaxed. If it doesn't work, fit, look right etc, you can bring it back for store credit or exchange with no questions asked
They did with the carpet cleaner we purchased but we didnt need to use the option.
