So am I to understand correctly that the Metropolis location is only for storage; not getting the groceries, and in order to aquire groceries I have to go to one of the locations that is partnered with the Texas Food Bank?

Yes that's right it's only a storage and a delivery so they don't have the groceries to give out you have to go through the mobile pantries or the pantries that are in your area

I call different places and they don't answer so I haven't been able to get help

You should give them a call. They will inform you of different pantries around Austin for food pick up. I only volunteer there, you need to talk to staff. Hope this helps
