Call a cab/uber. Call friend/family. Walk. Is this a serious question?
Sorry, Emily Darville, there is no such law. Hospitals are NOT responsible for your transportation home. You have several choices though: A.) If there is a medical reason why you can not be transported by personal vehicle/taxi, then transportation will be arranged for you via an expensive non-emergency medical transport. Depending on the situation, insurance may or not cover the ride. B.) Call a cab or Uber C.) Call a friend or family member, or plea for the mercy of a stranger D.) Walk Unfortunatly many people mistakenly think that EMS is their personal taxi. They are not. And unless you are having a life-threatening or serious emergency which requires you to be transported to another medical facility, I can assure you that EMS is NOT giving you a ride. People also mistakenly think that it is the responsiblity of the hospital staff to arrange a ride for them, or even a place to go if homeless. It is not the hosptial's responsibility; please don't assume that it is.
Said who? A law!?
Hospitals should have free cabs to take patients home. Its the law. Your in their facility it is their job to make sure you get to point a and b safely
