Darrell - I'm aware of several things regarding Wal-mart as an employer. First and foremost is that they are extremely customer oriented. Whatever is necessary to ensure that the customer is satisfied. This consideration does not supersede all other considerations, however, because they consider the employees as their most significant asset which has developed as the industry's strongest support for employee relations. They have developed and adhere to the standards of employees first. They hire first from within. They provide adequate and up to date training for every role in the organization. Their sick leave, annual leave, and personal time, etc., policies are standard in the industry and are often more favorable than most other competing companies. And to top it off, they were a leader in raising minimum wage across the country and across all job descriptions to $11.00 / hour.
