People are getting the paddys creek tent camping at the park confused with paddy creek campground. Paddy creek campground is on private property and has permanent rv sites and two tent sites with four cabin rentals.
Paddys creek is drive in tent camping, overnight. Catawba creek campground is boat in camping overnight. There's another campground that is walk in tent camping, can't remember the name. They're about $24/night.
There is camping at Lake James. We stayed at Paddy Creek Campground which is mostly year round trailers but they have several cabins of different sizes. If it's just two of you, the Jennifer is the best cabin. There's another one called the Samantha (I think). It sits right on one of the ponds.
I would check the official website for that answer. We made a day trip and saw no provisions for cabins. Tents or RV's might be permitted but again, all we saw were daily activity arrangements.
