For Jews, the Sabbath is on Saturdays, which is the 7th day of the week (and the day God rested during the creation story in Genesis). Christians celebrate on Sundays because that's the day Jesus was raised from the dead. Some churches also have Saturday services, but Christian churches primarily meet on Sundays.
