I am a 40 year, active member of AA in Phoenix. When did the Christmas alkathon digress into the "holiday" alkathon. And, was it done according to existing bi-laws? And was it voted on by all of the constituant groups of the Salt River Intergroup?

Hey Aaron what traditions are you abiding by in order to change a beautiful old tradition called Christmas Alcothon to a politically correct replacement called holiday alcothon? I am quite curious about this issue and am planning to pursue it openly.

It is now referred to as the SRI Alcathon in order to abide by our traditions. This was on our business agenda well over a year ago, a motion was made to amend our by-laws, which was then taken back to all home groups that had representation, and voted on by their trusted servants at the monthly business meeting. Perhaps you could consult with your home groups Intergroup Rep? Or attend one of our meetings for further discussion. I would be happy to make myself available to you.
