Hi Beth...I would suggest calling the plumbing desk....they have proven contractors can install in one day and are fairly priced....If it were me I would expect to have to pay. 400 to 600 install labor.....hope that helps....there are plumbers advertising for work on Craigslist in the services section but they do not have the track record that the Menards guys do....and if there is ever a problem Menards stands behind their contractors
When using proper licensed contractors for replacing a 50 gallon hot water heater with any necessary new parts should cost around 600-700. I recommend checking references of the contractors that may be doing the job. Get a few different estimates from dependable contractors.
