Ashlee is correct. We spend several hours in what we call cowboy camp that acquaintance the writer in the horse so that the horse actually chooses the writer. If you look on our website you’ll see that we have children as young as eight years old who have written successfully and I believe the age of the young person in the video on our website is 10 years old. We are dealing with live animals and so sometimes people do fall off if they don’t pay attention. We do everything we can to make sure that each rider is safe and to mitigate any possibility of injury. We have Personal protection for the riders that wanted; however, most do not. We do not book by Internet or email so be sure and call us if you wish to ride. We would love to have you.
They are horses and accidents can happen but their horses are very trained and do this 7 days a week. They have different horses they use for kids. You also dont have to do anything your uncomfortable with. My sons are 5 and 10 and I'd take them.
I haven't been with a child but I can say that they care very much about safety and take things as slow as you need, it's up to the individual. They let you meet the horses and let you choose which one you would like to ride and tell you which ones are mellow, gentle, more spirited, more bouncy of a ride, more smooth of a ride, and so on. You get to know the horse before you get on, then they teach you how to sit, ride, speed up, slow down, etc. You start at a walk and go from there. It's all at your own pace and they make sure you and everyone else feels comfortable with everything as your going. I hope this isn't too long, I just want to include as much information as possible for you. I hope it helps. My experience there was the best day of my life, by far. I plan on going at least once a year, I love it so much.
