Yes. As long as he is properly supervised. I'd recommend starting teaching him the basic safety rules. Then teach the definition of sight alignment and sight picture. Then with a thoroughly checked, unloaded weapon (all safety rules still apply) and give him a familiarization class with the weapon, it's controls and functions before you go to the range. Then at the range start with dry fire (no live ammo). Once he has demonstrated proficiency, load (1) round and let him fire it. Repeat a few times to make sure he is safe after the gun has discharged. Then move up to (2) rounds. If that goes well you can move up to a full magazine.
Great! Properly fit him with both ear plugs and ear muffs in case someone is shooting a boomer (ie 2" 357mag). Start him with a 22, so that it is a fun experience. Our SCMJunior Rifle Team had younger members.
