It all going to depend on what size pontoon you are going rent. If you have a large party, then rent the one that best fix your needs. Because they have different sizes,,
1) There is also a weight limit posted on the boat. What is the weight of all persons combined, plus any coolers, etc brought on board? If the adults are large, you may be pushing the weight limit right there. Typically the boat's posted capacity gives about 150 lbs per person, so I'm guessing a total of 1200 lbs allowed. 2) If you're renting a boat, they may be more strict. If you own your boat, the Rend Lake police don't really seem to enforce much. I have seen some boats weighted down, goodness. I would not recommend it, however. To me, 8 people is 8 people.
