I bought a small package of souse meat at Smith's Red and White meat market. The label says cook thoroughly, but some internet experts say you can eat it as is. What's the right answer? Thanks. BC

I've never had it cooked. We always cut it and put vinegar on it.

We always encourage our customers to follow the directions listed on the label of all food products. Regarding this product, we will review the label and see if any revisions are needed. We know that many people keep it in their refrigerator, slice it and eat it; sometimes seasoned with vinegar. We appreciate your feedback!
