Could be possible........maybe not so likely. If it's batteries of the same age and both are remote style....possible. Sounds like it could be the receiver that reads the key that's acting up, because keys are usually chipped, may need reprogramming. If they aren't chipped keys then I'd look at the possibility of same aged batteries if they're remote style keys. There are also reports of the board chips inside of the keys being damaged/breaking loose from motherboard or corroding. I would try changing the batteries in the keys first. If changing batteries doesn't work than that may warrant further diagnosis by your local dealer.
