If you don't want to do a pin number transaction do a Credit transaction which requires a signature not a pin #.

Some banks still require a pin number even if you run it as credit. Army Aviation debit cards are like that.
Rite an giving any information is safe these days I call bs. An from now on will pay cash. Tracy Brooks it demanded pin for credit as well Company stated it was banks policy when in fact is not. I checked. Management stated computer mishap.
