My experience, over 30yrs, is the contrary, to yours. From the fish market in the back to the guys outside in front, along with the cashiers & middle man up front, I've consistently received good customer service, even from the people on the 2nd fl. The individuals in produce dept will cut your yams, potatoes, etc in pieces, bring out fresh fruits if you point out the low amounts or poor quality selection (when you go late). The meat dept will cut your meats into small portions and if u need completely frozen items they'll pull from the back. Fish dept will clean your items while you shop. If there's an item you typically purchase, but all of a sudden you aren't able to locate on the shelves you can ask and the staff will make an effort to locate and or reorder. With regards to parking, there are 2 free parking lots, along with street parking. There's also 1/2 handicap accessible parking spots.
Customer service depends on your attitude. If you go in hot and hostile they are going to be very rude and ignore you. This place is frequent mainly by people from the west Indies/Caribbean so you must remember that things will move at a slow pace although the owners are Asian. So remember, slow and steady wins the race and to quote an old west indian saying "you catch more flies with honey than you do with ginger".
I have never been inside, so I can't say anything, good or bad.
This has not been my experience. The Cashiers sometimes pause; while serving others, to point you to the folks who can assist customers. On ONE occasion, I personally pointed out to one of the persons stacking the shelves, that the Large Plain 32 ozs Nonfat Yogurt were outdated and he promptly organized the removal. I hold absolutely NO BRIEF for these folks. This just happened to be my experience. Suggestion for any Shopper, and quite humbly, if I may....."just ask a Cashier".
IMHO customer service there is neither good nor bad. One's experience there is dependent on the individual with whom you are interacting. If it is someone with a modicum of manners then the experience is neutral to pleasant. If the individual does not have manners or who thinks they are giving free food away to you... I daresay that the experience will be unpleasant. I rarely shop there as it is always over crowded and I don't find the products there to be of the highest quality. The parking situation is not good even though they have a parking lot. The street parking is limited due to restrictive parking rules and traffic cops patrolling that section of Linden Boulevard like a pack of jackals, ready to pounce and issue a ticket.
Customer service with me is nice.
