What kind of snake could be good in size but still small enough to have without danger?

There is no danger involved with most of the species that are readily available, and it may depend on what you consider to be "good in size"! A Ball python is a great choice and will not get larger than 4 ft (most are smaller that that). There are many types of boas that are considered "dwarf" types that may be appropriate.
