You can use Google maps' walking directions... Exit the station and turn RIGHT onto Connecticut Ave NW. [Not on K Street or in the direction of the Starbucks]. Walk NORTH (NNW) on Connecticut Ave for 0.1 miles (passing L St and Desales, then the Nat Geo Museum) and then turn RIGHT onto Road Island Ave (not M St -- but you can see the cathedrals' dome and entrance from both streets) and you've arrived at the Catholic Church on your LEFT, the north side of Rhode Island Ave, which is less than 0.2 miles and a 4 minutes walk from the station, at 1725 Rhode Island Ave NW, Washington, DC 20036. It's labeled Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle on Google maps (its "place name").
