If you visit the shelter, do they provide info on the background of the adoptable dogs? E.g have they lived with cats or dogs before, are they potty trained? Online they do not. I could not find any info online in the FAQ or on the phone system.

Pretty much only on the owner turn-ins is usually when they get most of their information

Most of dogs I have personally adopted are runaways or strays so the animal shelter wont know the history. Its a hit or miss but if you have cats, the cats will know if the dog doesn't like them right away.

They have most of that information from the owners who have put them up for adoption
