How much is a hair cut?

I just called to ask how much for a cut with no blow dry for my 11 year old daughter and was told minimum of $35 and can go up to $55. I said she had straight hair all one length and just needs ends trimmed (although this may change in coming years, so I want to get established in a salon). It usually takes 5 minutes.
