Sure can! Need to have a fishing license. You can check the TPWC website on kids. I think up to a certain age they don't have to have one. You don't want the fine. I had it happen on a lake before and it was over $250.00 and I didn't even have any fish. Lesson learned the hard way. Also you can check and see if this is one of the lakes that TP&W stock with rainbow trout. There are a few around town. They don't seem to last long in the lakes so you have to check when they do stock them.

Just to add to that...the ONLY place in Texas you don't need a fishing license is in a State Park. Any other public waters you do. Also, be aware of size restrictions and limits for whatever species you're catching, if you keep them. That's something else you can be fined for.
