Other answer is correct. Will need referral from his doctor to a doctor that is licensed to prescribe medical marijuana. There is one at Highland Family Medicine, Dr Loomis. However must be a current patient at HFM to get appt with her. There is another in Rochester but I forget the name. You can search medical marijuana prescribers. Once you have the certification you apply to the state for a med marijuana card, $50. Takes about two to four weeks to arrive in the mail. Once you have that make appt with CC. Remember, everything you do from the appt to get your certification to purchasing medical marijuana comes 100% out of pocket. No VA or insurance will pay for it. Also, this stuff is EXPENSIVE. I also suffer chronic pain, degenerative disc disease, herniated disc and authritis in my back. I was spending $450/mo just to feel better, not pain free. I the pain reduced by about 40%, for that amount of money it wasn't worth it. Before going that route try CBD.
He would need to be referred to a practitioner that prescribes medical marijuana, not all doctors do. Try to call his regular doctor to see if he can get a referral to someone who prescribes it.
There is a website called getnugg.com,he will still need doctor's note stating the condition or the diagnoses for need for medical marijuana this website is Great, they are extremely helpful during the process
