I just contacted Costco. There is a temporary one day pass and you CAN purchase products with that pass before purchasing a membership.
You don't get a "temporary card". They give you the card on the spot.
You can go to the costco membership desk and buy a costco cash card. You can shop with that without a membership.
No, but they've said that if you want a tour of the store, they will accomodate you. You couldn't purchase anything but you can see what it is like.
No. Costco does not offer temporary cards or a "day pass" like other wholesale clubs sometimes do. That said, you can enter and purchase prescriptions and visit the optical store without a membership. Also, Costco does offer a refund of membership fees if you decide that you are unhappy with the offerings.
Yes, as long as your membership is paid and up to date they can accommodate you with a temporary card
No sir
I don't think so. You can ask for a tour I believe to look at the products.

Can you order an item from one store that has it and have item ship to another store for pickup?
