My son has found a bird that has fell out of it's nest we can't get it back in the nest one has died what can we do?

You should not have touched it. Mom birds when they smell A human's scent on baby bird will not take care of anymore.The mother pushed it of out nest to teach it to fly.She would have eventually put it back in nest.
