After you pick out the vehicle you like and are happy with the price, hopefully you are a member of a credit union such as TVA, so you can check with them first to borrow the money. Eastman, ORNL and TVA are some of the best common lenders in the area.
I use to work in the car business. Down payment is determined by the bank and NOT the dealership. There are several factors that determines if there will be a down payment or the amount of down payment. Trade, trade value verses trade pay off, loan to value on the car you're purchasing, and finally credit score to name a few. If you have questions, please feel free to ask me. Do not ask a dealership rep. They will do whatever it takes to get you there.
