If they didn't carry on a conversation with the customer then someone would be on here asking why wal-mart associates are rude and ignore the customer that they are checking out, so pretty much someone is going to complain regardless. This Wal-Mart is a 24 hour Wal-Mart so they shouldn't be closing unless you are talking about the pharmacy.
Wal-Mart should have kpi measurements to identify the cashiers who do this the extreme. On the other hand you don't want a cashier who totally disconnects from the customer. And finally try self checkout if you are the type not to talk to people.
Well, its Walmart.
Well i don't think it's the norm for the associates to hold personal conversation with customers.
You can't be talking about this 24 hour Walmart.
This particular Wal-Mart is 24 hrs and I usually shop when the store isn't crowded and self checkout works for me.
I don't like to be the one having to wait while the cashier and the customer is conversing with each other... especially when you can clearly see the negative effect on the cashier ability to get done with that customer items checked out.
I believe customer service is a think of the past, walmart and its employees are all about $ and talking cash money
Some time people dont have nobody talk to i guess it alright if you thing about it be courtresy
This seems to be the culture at most of the Wal-Mart stores I've been in.
