This is in the heart of Time Square, very bright, safe area now days, unlike Time Square of the 70's. As a big tourist spot, there are plenty of police around, both in uniform and plain clothed. It is still a big city, and anything can happen, but i would worry no more about this theater than I would about any other part of Manhattan. Now if touring the South Bronx at night is on the itinerary, i would be a bit more worried, but honestly not that much more, if going with a large group. NYC on a whole is a rather safe big city, great public transportation, and amazing sites and sounds. Better to enjoy the trip than worry about safety in a specific theatre.
Very safe. Obviously the one in million event could always happen but by definition that would be one in a million
