Great response, Dereck. Zachary - the lack of shared walls, large windows, and high ceilings make for heating and cooling costs that may exceed expectations in comparison to your standard, basic builder, new construction apartments. It’s important to keep this in mind when considering a unique, historic apartment.
Heating is high and cooling is cheap. My thermostat is at 66 in the winter, but that's norm for me. Even so, the cost to keep my place heated to 66 here vs my previous single family home cost on average about 50 dollars more a month. If you want warmer than 66 then expect to pay about 300 average in both Jan and Feb. To me, the benefits out way the cost, but ymmv.
