It 2.75 one fare you need to spend 5.50. It 2 fare. If you need more to subway station annd buy. Metro catd.
If you're talking about the subway, the fare is $2.75 w/ MetroCard regardless of how long you take the train. If you're buying a new card, be aware that there is a $1 fee in addition to the value you put on the card.
