I'm not sure why some folks find it so hard to believe Jesus appeared to him. Dude the Lord appears to people everyday. This is not some new phenomenon. He did it in biblical times & he does it today. For that matter He appeared to me when He called me to ministry. This.is not earth shattering news....calm down.
I grew up in a communist country and it took me at least couple months of reading the Bible, asking hard questions to finally believe. However, during those months someone had to talk to me, answer my questions and just love me into the Kingdom - a Christian lady who knew and believed the love of the Lord Jesus for her and for me so much that she sacrificed time each day for hours and hours to disciple me. I am so thankful for her and every minute and hour that Pastor Stovall spends on inviting people into the Kingdom of Our God because for each of those people it makes the difference between life and death and that it eternal! BTW almost all of my growth in the knowledge and relationship with my Lord Jesus happened and still happens in home groups and ESPECIALLY during my personal devotional time withHim! Also BELOVED BROTHERS AND SISTERS - every church is to function as a family and we ought not to leave our family when we disagree with them. (Member since 2006)
Good, a person who's deeply involved with God is normal to either hear God/Jesus talking to or when that person is in a spiritual mode and going through a trance they meet with Jesus.. it's in the bible, since Adam and Eve through Abraham, Moses, and other prophets.
People have a misunderstanding of what kind of person God is because they've confused God with the judgemental Satan. Why would Jesus take the time out of his busy schedule to see me? My question to you is why not? With that, why wouldn't Jesus show himself to Stovall? My God is the only God I know who has met me in a secret place, who has kept under his wing in safety and allowed me to see him. Stovall has seen him this way too. For all of you who have doubts, I know The Lord will show you the truth.
I believe him
I am nobody really nobody JESUS has appeared to me many times over the course of a life time. HE also appears to everyone in the group. Yes we test the spirits. Yes it really is HIM HE does it in such away we could never say that's my imagination. HE'S GREAT. When HE shows up there is scripture to back it up. Of course HE is the WORD of GOD made flesh and dwelt among us. Really surrender and do it HIS WAY. During feast of tabernacles I had hurt my sisters feelings so I asked HIS forgiveness and hers but I was ashamed. HE asked me if I was going out side to praise and worship shake the lulav and I said I am embarrassed. When I went outside I saw a pasture with sheep one sheep was nipping at the other. I was sitting next to JESUS and HE was kissing me quick fast kisses like you would a child you adore on the forehead and cheek saying over and over "Don't bite the sheep" I saw a black and white sheep dog and HE said "that's what they are for" to keep the sheep together. Pastors.
Im not sure what all this is about, but heres my story. God walks with me and talks to me everyday of my life, hes my best friend. Instead of seeking people seek God, you will find him, anyone who seek HIM with all their heart, truly wanting him will hear him, as you seek him instead of people you learn to hear his voice, leading. You wont find him when seeking people, thats like trying to build a relationship with Joe by talking to Bob, if you want to build a friendship with Joe you need to spend time with Joe and as for feeling his presence i always feel his presence even when hes quite, its the only thing im sure about in this world is that hes always with me. If your looking for something and have no real intentions on finding it you wont.
Something happened and Stovall changed and not in a snooty or proud way. That lends credibility. Stovall doesn't regularly preach anymore. He oversees all the campuses and other pastors are the regular preachers. I personally enjoy Stovall because he's humble and real - he isn't always polished and pre-planned. In the Old Testament story of Elisha and the surrounding army, Elisha's servant couldn't see anything supernatural until Elisha prayed and the servant could also see a supernatural army surrounding the material one. I'm not a fan of everything at the church (I don't enjoy emotionally "focused" preaching) but I've attended Dr. Michael Heiser's class this last year (2020) and it's legit. Serious biblical study/teaching and scholarship.
Jesus I may not have had a visual visit by Christ, but He speaks to me in dreams (usually around 4:00 AM) and sometimes walking during the day. He has given me insight that my mother was about to pass away. She had had pneumonia three times within the last year and when I got off the phone with her for the last time I spoke with her, he told me immediately after I hung up “she’s not going to make it this time” she passed away three days later. But I was able to fly back home and sit by her bedside for two of those days. He came to me and dreams about moving my business after I had been praying for almost a year. I saw visually different signs including the building that I was going to be moving into. A person driving the truck and a prophecy of some problems in trouble my son was going to get in. All of it came true. He warned me about two employees on two separate occasions either stealing from me monetarily or stealing my employees. Upon investigating, I immediately terminated them.
I believe GOD subconsciously come to us if we invite and pay attention..I have felt his presence many times which is something I cannot explain..Plus if you are a true believer you will believe..I
Your confused. The Devil is the great deceiver. Jesus showed himself to many after his death. Pastor did not say he saw God. Remember Father Son, and the Holy Ghost.
No Man hath seen the Father but the Son who also is God. No man shall see God and live!
All I know is there was a significant change in Pastor Stovall immediately following that. It was very apparent to me what he experienced was everything he said it was. I never doubted for a second because I was there and had goosebumps at the time.
