Metal detecting is not allowed in any of the preserves located within the Forest Preserve District of Will County. The only exception to this rule is the one special use permit that the Forest Preserve District has issued to the Will County Historical Research and Recovery Association, and their activities are restricted to designated areas.
I would think not. It is a preserved historic site and I am sure all artifacts should stay at the site.
