Are you open to the public? We walked in at 5pm and they turned us away because of the pro leagues. They guy behind the counter said it's like that every weekday. Is this true?

Pretty much. Most bowling centers in DFW are that way. You would need to look at the multi center complexes for available lanes not taken over by leagues.

We have Leagues Monday through Friday nights. We do have some open play lanes available even at league times on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Our leagues start at 630, so in order to oil the lanes for start time our open play ends around 5:15 -5:30 on the days where we have full leagues. Also, our leagues are not pro leagues, We have leagues for beginners to very skilled bowlers, if you are interested in joining one of our leagues let me know and I can get you more information!

The way bowling alleys stay in business is having regular leagues to support them. These leagues often fill the house and there is no open bowling....especially on weekday evenings. There are usually plenty of other times open bowling is available. Like someone else suggested. Call ahead and find out. Often if any lanes are available you can get on a waiting list if it's busy. Most anytime before 6 there are usually plenty of open lanes. After that, call ahead.

I go to Allen bowl and Plano bowl frequently. I advise to call in advance to see if lanes are available. Most bowling alleys will have their leagues on weekday afternoons.

Yes, but I would recommend that you call ahead, as there are some days and nights that are busy with league play.
