You can not have a gun "gifted" to you. In other words, a person can not purchase a handgun and then hand it over to another person for their ownership/use. You MUST register the handgun in your name. With that said, a person can purchase, register and own a handgun and then transfer ownership of the gun to another person without money changing hands as long as the person receiving the handgun is legal to own a handgun. I'm not an attorney but I did sleep in a Holiday Inn once......

Open carrying also paints a great big target on your back. Just get a cpl. Trust me....I personally know that the cpl is the best way to go. Legally you can get arrested for 5 year gun felony charges if you don't properly store your hand gun in your vehicle

What age can you get cpl at

Michigan is an open carry state last I heard. Question is do you want the hassle of nosy weirdos telling on you making you look bad? I doubt it $$$$$
