You can run into anything anywhere you go but, stay on the North End of the boulevard the hotels are better
Don’t go through the area to the right of the Sky Wheel’s pavillion. I saw some sketchy carnies in there.

Resorts in Myrtle Beach are really family-friendly and finding your way around the area can be arranged by the conciergerie. There are enough locations where you can enjoy a stress-free outing alone, or with kids. The beach is guarded by lifeguards and police force is really present in town.
