Well, first off, you can't purchase flower in NYS. You don't need an appointment, but you will probably have a wait without one. Make sure you have your Rx and card.

You need a prescription or a valid card to get anything, and flower isn't legal in NY yet. Your only options are a tincture, tincture in caps, and vapeable pen.
