I saw people with large purses, backpacks, & diaper bags... but I would imagine anything bigger than that would not be acceptable. Security will lightly search any bags brought in at the gate
If don't you want to fell uncomfortable just a bag.
Yeah, think carry on size. But if you try to bring a rolling suitcase in with you it will probably be more trouble than it's worth. Also, once you get to your seat there really isn't anywhere to put it.

I saw people with full size backpacks, but they do go through it
