I work for Walmart and getting close to 38 hrs /week. I was told by Walmart that I was part time. How can this be??? By Dept of Labor 35 hrs or more is considered full time. Am I getting screwed. Should I consult a lawyer on this matter?

If I were you I would obtain a copy of the contract you signed when you hired on before assuming anything.

That is what walmart does so they dont have to give you benefits. They will keep doing that for as long as they want. My wife worked there 2 years and thats what they did to her. No raise no nothing. Thats how they make their money. Basically only managers get benifits because they keep them the longest. By the way a lawyer wont do any good. Walmart will win in the end. On paper they are technically not doing anything wrong. But to the employee its a different story
