I'm hungry, however it turns out that I also happen to be black. I noticed that your establishment doesn't take to kindly to the combination. Is that going to be a problem if I visit with my family?

I am an African American female who is married to a black Colombian from South America. We've 4 kids together w youngest being 5. We've been to Jim n Nicks on several occasions & not 1 time have we ever been discriminated against or disrespecte. Every waiter or waitress that I have had has always been pleasant. Nice, respectful, &very patient w children. I am not for sure what has happen to you for you to feel this way. They also have an African American male hostess their as well. The food is good for the Carolinas. I am from the deep south & every region has a different twist on barbecue so it's a little different for me but still good. My daughter's loves the ribs. My son loves the bread that they bring to the table. I always get pull pork & my huband get the chicken. My other son who eat chicken tenders. I hope you try it. Please have a positive thought before entering bc if you have a negative then you'll not enjoy yourself but be on waiting for something bad to happen

I eat there all the time, most frequently with a very diverse group of friends, and colleagues, representing many lands. El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Togo Africa, Canada, and most certainly Black Americas. Not once in the 5 plus years I have had business lunches and dinners, along with personal lunches and dinners have I detected a hint of racism. Not only is racism not evident their wait staff, and kitchen staff are comprised of a diverse and quite friendly group of whites, blacks and Latinos.

I did have one run end with one of the white waitress at the one on Steel Creek. she was a older lady that made it clear she didn't like blacks. However, the manager was notified and he apologized and took great care of me and my friends that was with me. I hope you enjoy your meal.
