I believe the wait time right now is a year. And that's after the application and interview have been accepted.
It really depends. The list isn't followed like a donor list. There are many factors when they are placing a dog. Not just first come first serve. Put the application in... it can't hurt. I can tell you you will get an outstanding dog that will not only be an awesome guide, but your best friend too.
