Why does this store close at 8pm on a Friday night? Is it in a bad neighborhood or something? I have never been to Opelika but was thinking of driving here to shop and have dinner after. Thanks.

I have no qualms about shopping there. Great place to shop, family-friendly. I grew up in Opelika and know this to be a safe area.
