@Martin Cruz, the Beacon train station has a lot of parking, but if you want a close spot you need to get there early. A lot of commuters have parking permits or leave early enough to get the spots closer to the train. As for the meters, there is only 1 machine located in front of the taxi stand area, which is to the left of the station. You pay at the machine and you must enter the number of the spot you parked at, and the amount of time needed. Weekends and holidays parking is free.
@Martin Cruz, when I go to the Metro North railroad station in Beacon, New York, I commute, solely using mass transit. However, I AM aware that a lit of Beacon residents have positions of employment in Manhattan, and go there using that rail station. That being said, although I have never noticed actual meters, there is a parking vending machine (not sure what the correct term is) that people can use to pay for their parking space when they are not in Beacon. It is in the direction of the taxis that one can take from the station.
