Front of dress circle is a better seat than rear orchestra.
Because it is the best place to seat for anything involving musoc or large scenery. Far better than any orchestra seat. That reason one. Two more to consider... (1) lookink slightly downward as yoy do from dress circle is best position ergonomically speaking, and (2) any VIP and even royalty will always seat here... It is for the view rather than to make waving to underlings easier... :-)
