These "so-called" activist groups need to leave monuments alone. The monuments are offending anyone, it is the ridiculous and anti-american thinking that is offensive. Our country was built on religion and the Trust in GOD.

Peace Cross - All questions

Address: 4500 Annapolis Rd, Bladensburg, MD 20710, USA

The Supreme Court decision regarding the Peace Cross allows it to remain where it is. Our Constitution protects our rights and our freedom as citizens. One of the clearest portions of the Constitution is the First Amendment protection of religious freedom. The government is not to establish any preferred religion or religion at all, while ensuring the right of citizens to practice a religion if they choose to. So while the Peace Cross was a practice of Christianity, non-Christians had a right to not have religion imposed on them. As in many questions of religious freedom, the Peace Cross decision was a balance between the right to practice one religion and the right to not have the government impose religion on citizens. The differing opinions on the case in the Supreme Court and the lower courts were different balance points. Therefore, the decision came down to the particulars of the case, not the fundamental principle of religious freedom. The government is religiously neutral.
