I came to get a great chicken wing dinner the chicken evidently was cooked in Black Grease because my chicken tasted like it was burned I do believe in going to Black restaurants but please give me what I paid for it was horrible the whole meal

That is definitely not the norm they really got good food you got to understand they got a high turnover of people that don't want to be productive but want to pay check so now ask for either Miss lawan or Kenny Adams when you go again they do serve good food I vouch for that I've been eating that eight years Porsche you sound like a negative person you really sound negative lawan's soul food is not nothing like that so if you don't have anything positive to say don't say nothing at all now I'm telling you from experience of 8 years they got good food just some of the health is bad not productive but want to be paid so stop all that negativity

Wow, that's horrible and hate you had that experience there. I have gone and loved it. Hopefully next time (if you ever go back) you will have a better experience.

We love LaWan's and stop in every chance we get. They are always friendly and the food is so good. My go-to place when I'm craving some home cooking.

Did you advise the owner?

I agree with Ms Booker's comment. You should have let the owners (Rodney and/or Carolyn) know about the chicken that tasted burnt (probably fried in VERY dirty grease). I was employed there for almost 2 yrs as a cook and NEVER had any such complaints. With cooks, as with anything else, MANAGEMENT GETS WHAT IT PAYS FOR!

Definitely ask for the manager when you visit again! Im sorry you had a bad experience. That's not the norm for LaWan's.
