This church is helpful to many different people in many different circumstances. The moral authority of the bible can be used by anybody to lead a good life and eastern philosophy can also be used by anybody. If you want to support the ecumenical movement, then this is the place to be in Phoenix.
Same reason people join AA, they feel as if there's no other option. I went to unity for some time and I would have to say as far as "Church" goes...its far from anything described as church. It's actually considered Christian to my knowlege although it's got a slice of Eastern Philosophy...a big one at the location. Also the methodology is more logical than for instance a Lutheran Church. To the extent that if something out of the Bible is discussed, it's used and taught as implementation of the moral...not that event actually occurred.
Overall wonderful atmosphere!! Accepting of all people!! Great sermons..lots of events... community friendly. Very laid back yet so insightful!!
