If they are no longer a danger to them selves or danger to others they will be released to the cummunity, if not they continue to a higher level of care with the county (MIHS) at either the psych annex or desert vista.... if they seek volatility treatment the valley is their oyster and many private hospitals are options as well as out patient treatment

As a rule, inpatients patients at UPC are only here for a few hours or at the most a few days, for Urgent, temporary psychiatric treatment only..... then they are released to be either on their own or possibly to go with case management by transport to a group home or halfway house or shelter.... if they need long-term rehab that would be up to their case manager and team to decide......
