There IS reserved seating for the most popular times on the most popular shows. For example. The last jedi grand opening had reserved seating for the 7:45pm Show and was almost sold out. The 10:15pm no reserved seats available.(GA) The website made it appear that maybe a few left. We showed up very early and expected a large crowd fighting for a few GA seats. Was told either the whole theater is GA or the whole theater reserved seats. I hope this helps.
Saw rogue one a year ago and was able to reserve a seat. However, saw The Last Jedi Christmas weekend and NO reserved seating.
