I'm new to TX with a valid Florida drivers license. I have the TX vehicle insurance, vehicle inspection and vehicle registration and plates. I tried to make an appointment for getting a TX drivers license on line at the Garland Mega Center and it is showing October before I can get a drivers license. What are my options in getting my Texas drivers license
The places I've looked at said October or November. This is completely insane the way the state of Texas is handling this and I'm very disappointed in them. I grew up in Texas and this was never the case this is absolutely nuts. Used to, you could go into any of the ones down in Waco and be in and out in like 30 minutes tops. I work on the road out of state and I just moved back to Texas and it's telling me it's October or November and I have no way that I can know I'm going to be in the state in October or November. I work out of state all year long and matter of fact Sunday I'm going to Ohio for work. I can't leave the other state in a rental vehicle that the company I'm working for is paying for to drive all the way back to Texas to get my driver's license. Heard a couple of days ago I may be working in Nevada or North Dakota for the next like I don't know year and never come home. I can't just drive home to get my driver's license in November... that's crazy stupid.
I was planning on getting my learners permit and was told if you get up really early like before anyone else be first or second in line with walking because they only except two a day they will assist you and if your not in as walk in just tell security guard you want to wait just in case someone misses their appt you can take their spot and get seen they should come out and get you if the person doesn't show
