Don't rent a CZ pistol. It will spoil you for everything else. Definitely rent something all steel though, they recoil softly and are easier to handle for beginners. Of course consider a 45 1911. Big slow rounds that hit hard but don't recoil hard. Also the counter people can recommend something for you. Buy your ammo elsewhere though, like Walmart, range ammo is very expensive.
